Phase I Results Are In!
THANK YOU to everyone who participated in our 2013 & 2014 business plans and budget adjustments survey. It is only by understanding your priorities that we can ensure the services we provide meet your needs.
To honour The City's commitment to continue its conversation with Calgarians, calgary.ca/ourfuture was launched on June 12, 2012.
The priority for citizen engagement at this time was to discover if Calgarians' priorities had changed since Council deliberation in 2011, if outside events had changed or shifted (e.g. economic conditions) from your perspective, and if The City was doing a good job in meeting the expectations laid out in the 2012 – 2014 business plans and budgets.
Over 2800 people visited the site when the survey was running, 2012 June 12-30, the majority from direct traffic to calgary.ca/ourfuture. We also have a mobile app for this site, through which 488 citizens visited. 232 respondents completed the survey, many providing clear and specific comments.
The 2013 & 2014 Business Plan and Budget Adjustments June Engagement Report was created from the online survey, the comment boxes that are available on every page of the micro site, and the web metrics for the time the site has been active.
We appreciate your comments and thank you very much for taking the time to complete the survey because in continuing our conversation, we have three goals in mind:
- That you feel part of the process for making adjustments to the 2013 and 2014 business plans and budgets.
- That you are provided with information about what we do and why we do it including information about proposed adjustments and the process used to develop these proposed adjustments.
- That you have the opportunity to provide input and ideas.
How The City will use 2013 & 2014 Adjustments Engagement results
The information contained in this report is being provided to citizens right here on the calgary.ca/ourfuture micro site. It is also being sent to the Mayor and members of Council, the City of Calgary City Manager and General Managers, and is also being placed on myCity for internal use by business planners, departmental adjustments process leads, and all City of Calgary staff who are part of the adjustments process or simply interested in the results and go forwards of this engagement.
This report is being shared so that it can inform any adjustments being proposed by the departments of The City of Calgary. In November, The City will report back to citizens on how the information gathered as part of this engagement process informed and was utilized when making their adjustments recommendations. As well, if the information gathered was not able to inform the process that will be shared as well.
In 2012 November, the proposed adjustments and explanations from Administration will be posted on calgary.ca/ourfuture, when another survey will also be launched to help inform Council as they move through budget deliberations. In 2012 December, the final approved adjustments will also be posted.
